I at times visit Debs on PoetryPoem, but she seems distant and does not respond anymore; did I or we make some misunderstood muddy water? Hope not; I miss her poetry and good comments. All poetry is getting wierd, but I am still there and want to host a contes and could use some advice, John. My absolutely fav there is Mairi bheag among others; but only here is my heart and love: Need another dusty drink...DW 8-)

I can contact her on PoetryPoem and ask her to come and join, but I hold no office here, so maybe she'll not respond? :( Anyhow, i want to host a contest on All Poetry and need a bit of advice from our Rhymingplace family; 'takes a long swig of dusty drink' 'sighs deeply' 'smiles wistfully and remembers the joy of being on our site' :? ...DW 8-)

What kind of contest will you be hosting?
One of the things we did at poetrycastle that was fun was Poetry Idol.

We had 3 of the staff act as the judges and the community at large also got a vote. Judges votes counted more.
They pretty quickly eliminated the majority and got down to the top 12 and then we had to shine.

One of our members who we have not seen in a while won the whole thing... I came in 2nd LOL.
But that was a lot of work, and it requires a fairly large community of active participants to work.

BTW, if you would like to be a moderator, that would be great too. We have a few that were made mods as a courtesy since they were staff or admins of other sites.

We actually need some active mods, one of the tasks that really isn't getting done, except when I occasionally get to it, is moving poems from the posting areas to the archive areas.

and this: search for myth

I had seen something else at bluebellstrilogy, but couldn't find it again - it mentioned what you said.

Just wanted to come and reintroduce myself here- I haven't been around in a longg while, been very busy etc, I was on here as Mystery, (Sera) and I've been on poetry forums with John for years and years... since I was about 14 or something ridiculous like that!! I have no doubt that most of you will have little to no recollection of me but I was a relatively active member, and I'm back :D Hope everyone is well, do catch me up and I can't wait to read all your recent works soon :) xxxxxx :D :D

jet lag is no fun.
So, where did you visit on your holiday? We did some travel through Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas and stopped to see some cool rock formations in Arches National Park as well as Mesa Verde which is just packed full of old cliff dwellings.

I've not seen much of America, so it was so exciting! We went to Henderson, then Death Valley (which was absolutely stunning, though so so soo hot!) then Santa Barbara which had a beautiful coast and lovely shops- drove through Santa Monica where the beaches were also lovely, then a few days in LA in Pasadena which was just one of my favourite places ever, and then the last two nights on the strip in Vegas :) - also visited the Grand Canyon in a helicopter!! Was amazing!!
I've never seen any of the places you mentioned :( I guess I still have a lot of years to travel though! :) xxx
