Nah, wouldn't do any good. Inflation would eat it up either way.
If gold wasn't so high, i'd consider moving everything into gold, but I'm not sure it will go any higher and I don't want to be holding the bag if it drops back to under a thousand. On the other hand, food would be worth more than gold if things went really badly.

Well, I used to be pretty fluent in french, I do pretty well in spanish and english, know a few phrases in Kiowa and used to be able to read beginning hebrew. However, it's been 30 years for the french and hebrew so those skills are very rusty.
