LOGON PROBLEMS? READ THIS.

Post by wordtamer »

If you have been having problems with logging into the forums it may be due to a change in the cookie name. The symptoms are you login and are immediately logged out. If you are experiencing this I apologize for the inconvenience.

To resolve the issue:

You can login with a different browser than you normally use to view the site. This doesn't fix the problem, but it avoids it and is easy.

Otherwise you can resolve this by deleting all the cookies your browser saved.
There is usually an option in the menu for doing so.

In Internet Explorer select the Tools Menu, then Internet Options, then click the Delete button under Browsing History and make sure the checkbox next to Cookies is set and hit the Delete button. That will resolve the issue. You can also look in your cookie directory (usually c:\documents and settings\username\cookies or c:\users\username\cookies) and delete anything named rhymingplace.

In Firefox select the Tools Menu, then select Delete Recent History. That will resolve the issue.

In Google Chrome: select the Wrench icon for tools, then select options, click the tab "Under the Hood" and then click the button "Content Settings" in the "Cookies" tab click the button "Show Cookies" Enter rhymingplace in the search box. All rhymingplace cookies will be displayed. Select the one named rhymingplace.com and click the remove button. That should resolve the problem.

In Opera get to the "Preferences" dialog, under the "Advanced" tab click the button "Manage Cookies", type rhymingplace into the search box, delect the cookie named rhymingplace.com.
