A place for poets to discuss the joys / pitfalls of being published, which publishers to work with and also where those aspiring to publish a book can ask questions.
Just create an account (which is free), Add a title, and upload your own formatted PDF and use the cover creator to create your cover (The PDF method was too hard since nothing I had would export it correctly to a PDF)
Then submit it.
There's only a charge if you buy one of their packages - which they hope you will do LOL.
I found it confusing at first - but their getting started video says it's free to add a title and I have not encountered anything asking me to pay a fee yet.
We'll see for sure when I approve my proof this week.

I'll let you know for sure once I'm certain - but from everything I've seen and read it's supposed to be free - if you do EVERYTHING yourself. However, if you want support and a little hand-holding then they charge and the minimum is 299.... and the maximum is expensive since the offer to edit your book and do a certain amount of marketing.
I'm sure it isn't worth it for a poetry book. Maybe for a novel or something it might be worth having them edit it.

Well, I think I mentioned earlier that I got the proof copy of my book and found a few minor typographical errors. Since I had to make some changes, I went through it all again and did some work on the punctuation since it was either non-existant, or bad.
I just submitted it again for createspace to review and once they Ok the format I have to order another proof.
LOL, I was seriously tempted to just approve it with the few typos - but I'm glad I didn't now.

New proof ordered... much improved I think. I fixed a couple of places I decided were still a bit rough in some poems, and improved the punctuation, fixed typos.
I expect I'll have the proof in hand by Friday and should be able to approve this one

*sigh*
Found one misspelled word. Should have been "your" and it's "you".
Messes up the whole poem. I guess I have to fix it and order a third proof.
LOL, guess I should have spent more time proofing the first one.
I might run it past a writer friend too before I do another proof.

LOL, it's frustrating - I'm torn between just being done with it and getting it done right.
Heavily leaning towards getting it done right. *sigh*

Well, I gave the proof to a writer friend... she's a technical writer but has some editing experience and she is going to run her eyes over the latest proof just to make sure I didn't miss anything else. Unfortunately she's busy the next couple of weeks so it's out of my hands until she returns the proof to me.
I'll just be working on book two.

So, Marvin... how's it going with your latest (createspace) book?
I haven't sold a copy of mine all year - not that I've been trying very hard LOL.
