John waves at the barmaid... "A cup of coffee for thekid, please"
"Oh, and I'll have a Perrier with lime"
So, where's the next Cruise Marvin?

The next one that I'm going on is our 25th Anniversary Group Cruise on Carnival's Splendor sailing from LA to the Mexiacn Riviera Feb 21-28. Just 138 days until we sail. I plan on booking another short cruise sometime later in 2010 before our Caribbean cruise in feb 2011.

Wowsers... no wonder you build up those sea miles

Sounds like fun.
I've thought of taking one but have held off because I always figured the crowd would be younger party types and I've heard so many horror stories of sick boats...

Well, I think you will be surprised because if you go a 7 day or longer cruise, you will see the guests are about your age and I think the cruise industry does a fantastic job in keeping the industry pretty safe as far as the spreading of illnesses. I would say in 90% of the times (but don't quote me as official) a person cruising for the first time will most likely have such a good time that they will do it again. I also will not judge other cruise lines on another. I've only been on Carnival and I hope to cruise all cruise lines that have US ports so i can judge for myself.
only 125 days until my next cruise.

There are a few that sail from Galveston Tx and go down to the Yucatan peninsula where you can go and visit ancient ruins that sounded interesting to me. I think these are smaller ships though.
My daughter in interested in Archaeology and I had thought it might be fun.

Yeah... probably...
But her hubby is working and she's getting ready in a few months to start grad school and so I don't know when it could happen.

Well... the other forum I visit is closing its doors sometime soon.
I've invited a few people from there to come join us here, so hopefully we'll get a few more active members
I've never invited people from there to avoid the thought that I was trolling for members LOL... but now that they're closing down I don't think it's such a big issue to invite some.

Could I have a glass of milk and some peanuts? Maybe a tiny shot of rum in the milk? Just wanted to know, aren't those cruises expensive and time consuming? We get lots of ads here in India, but somehow apprehension sets in when I think of the cost... DW
